Courses run for a number of weeks on a specific Achievement Standard to improve students understanding and confidence of the topic and to help students prepare for their NCEA examination.
Revision workshops for last minute preparation are available leading up to the NCEA and Cambridge IGCSE examinations. The focus of these revision sessions is on answering questions from past papers. Students taking NCEA L1, L2 or L3 choose a workshop based on their goal of achievement.
Going 4 Achieved Revision Workshops– You need help to interpret exam questions at the achieved level and to make the decision as to which skill to use to answer the question. The focus is exam preparation targeted at achieve level questions.
Going 4 Merit/Excellence Revision Workshops– You need help to interpret exam questions at merit/excellence level, make the decision as to which method to use to solve the problem, devise a strategy to solve the problem, relate your solution to the context, show your working logically using correct mathematical statements, develop a proof or form a generalisation. The focus is exam preparation targeted at merit/excellence level questions. However, if you are not ready to tackle merit/excellence exam questions then you need to do the Going 4 Achieved workshop first.
